Barrowmounds

The Barrowmounds are located a half-day’s march south west of Helix. There are hundreds of burial mounds. They vary in size, some are as big as 300’ in diameter and 50’ high. They contain the ancient tombs of people that have been buried by their loved ones with the worldly possessions they’ll need in the afterlife.

The conditions of the mounds vary; some are sealed, some are looted, and some are collapsed.

The terrain between the mounds is swampy with a dense thicket of briar bushes and small trees.

The local population knows they exist but avoids them. It’s widely believed that the dead walk among the mounds.

The party knows that the Barrowmaze lies under the Barrowmounds. This is less well known among the local population but not entirely a secret either.
